4 Day Plein Air Workshop by Award Winning Artist, James Richards

Wednesday, November 9 at 9:00am -  November 12 at 4:00pm
Spend four days with American Artist, James Richards, capturing the beauty of Apalachicola. Develop a deeper understanding for the nature of light and it’s effects on value and color, and how to quickly capture the essence of a scene in plein air. Along with being a premier landscape painter James is highly sought after for his instruction and teaches workshops across the country and Europe. Four days of intense study, demonstrations, discussions, individual painting, one on one time at students easels, and critiques are a part of every day in the workshop.

$485 per person, $200 deposit required.

Supply list: James uses a very limited palette of four colors.
The primaries and white.
Paints: Lucas 1862: :Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Lemon Yellow
Lucas Studio: Titanium White, Vermillion

Alternative colors: any quality brand paint will work. Vermillion can be substituted by cad red light, and Lemon yellow by cad yellow light.

Portable easel, palette, brushes, palette knife, paper towels, brush cleaner w/mineral spirits, paper and drawing pencil.

Canvas- James recommends smaller paintings for learning. 5x7 to 12x16. Shoot for at least two paintings a day.
